I came late to photography, only starting in 2017 with a Nikon D70 (now a D750) and a 60mm macro lens. However, since that time, I have enjoyed many hours in and around canal towpaths, fields, villages, and anywhere else that may harbour insects. Last year, I was given a 'bird' camera by my eldest brother, a Nikon Coolpix P950 and which has had nearly daily use since last March.

I am torn between the two photographic interests. I switch between my first love, insects, and my latest venture with birds. I will be exploring the coastal areas of England this early summer for seabirds. In late summer and early autumn, I will be heading to the USA to visit family and where I will be chasing down birds to be photographed.

In early autumn I hope to be taking a long tour of Central France. I hope to visit some of my favourite fields in that region for insects and to see the multitude of birds which are now available due to the generosity of my brother.

I am a retired person and so feel that I have a freedom of movement to pursue my love of this photography"
