We’re taking a break from our trek up the Eden valley this week as I want to take you up to the Katharo Plateau in the Dhikti mountains. Yes, I know we’ve been there before (Cathartic Katharo) but I need your help to examine some summer ponds.

Anders Langangen in his Charophytes (
Charales
) from Crete (Greece) collected in 2010 found the following species in six out of nine locations: Chara aspera, C. connivens, C. corfuensis, C. vulgaris, Nitella hyalina, N. tenuissima. He did not, however, visit Lassith. See http://www1.unipa.it/herbmed/flora/22-025.pdf
