Jan 15 - A New Ohio Odonata Society Web Site

The Ohio Odonata Society has a new web site.

The url is www.ohioodonatasociety.org

This is OOS’ 3rd generation of an online presence, the 1st was at Marietta College, the 2nd was at u.osu.

Many hours of discussion and tech-work have gone into this new web site, primarily by OOS volunteers Jay Heiser and Jim Lemon.

The new web site has much of the County and Species reporting that for the last few years was distributed in the Dragon Flyer Newsletter. The newsletters are also archived on the site.

As with all websites, there is still work to be done, and you can help. We are especially interested in County-level descriptions of local wetlands. Please take a look, especially at Coshocton (where Jay has a wetland property) as an example.

Let us know what you think. Any mistakes are ours - we will correct as needed. Also comment on ideas you might like to see.

Thanks for the update, Jim! The new site looks great - very clean and navigable design. It's a wealth of accessible data.

I did see one oddity--the distribution maps are in alphabetical order except for the Widow Skimmer, which is first on the page.

Also, I don't see any links or info about becoming an OOS member/subscribing.
