Road killed. Can anyone tell what sex this is. I have only been able to sex porcupines internally. This is not a large porcupine (30 in., 99 cm total length), but I think it is sexually mature, and I would have expected evidence of its having nursed this spring if it were a female.

These insects seemed fairly abundant in my rudbeckia fulgida deamii patch. Many were nestled in the flower buds and apparently feeding. The color is a metallic bronze.
