This deer died recently, it was not frozen and it was well below freezing the last 48 hours. I dragged the deer on the snow to get it away from my dogs and two fetuses fell out of the abdominal cavity. A unusual finding since these dead deer are scavenged so quickly. A pregnancy related death?. Ruptured uterus?
