Description

Fished this lovely moth out of a raft of gunk (mostly dead mayflies) stuck on the dock. Never have seen one before. The body is bright blue, more of a cobalt than the aqua showing here.

L’insecte a été observé le 22/12/21 sur un mur nord a l’abri d l’eau et du vent , il mesurait plus ou moins 4 cm le « cocon » est toujours en place depuis 14 jours sans aucun mouvement

Description

Observed a narrow, linear row of webs at the apex of a hill. The row of webs were resting on the top of mowed turf grass. The photos were taken at 8:00 AM in Woodstock, Illinois 60098. The skies were clear and the temperature was about 38 degrees F.
