Found in red pepper imported from Mexico (company address in La Quinta, CA), purchased from Superstore in Edmonton. The pepper looked pretty normal from the outside except for a small, rotten soft spot. However, it was moldy all over the inside and completely spoiled. The caterpillar had tunneled the placenta and pupated there. When it emerged it had no way to get out and died inside the pepper. This is where I found it. Specimen deposited at the Royal Alberta Museum.
