First photo close-cropped to show flight, the rest of the photos full size, with them roosting high up in the big, tall tree below this one flying, and then, when we came out from visiting the museum, they were gone!

Beautiful beetle found drowning in a bucket we have outside that collects condensate from our air conditioning system. He was still paddling when we found him, so we took him out of the water, put him on a paper towel so he'd dry off a bit just from being on the paper, and then took him off that and kept an eye on him until he dried off enough to fly away. What a fabulous little guy - super happy he survived his ordeal!

The video also shows that it is a male dugong. The genital slit is distant from the anus.
