Description

This is the second species in the family Aetobatidae I have observed resting in the sand (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Kathryn-Flowers/publication/340165611_Resting_Whitespotted_Eagle_Ray_Aetobatus_narinari_Aetobatidae/links/5f20304092851cd5fa4e458a/Resting-Whitespotted-Eagle-Ray-Aetobatus-narinari-Aetobatidae.pdf). Some divers have reported this behaviour and it seems to be more common than previously thought. Would love to hear from others who have seen this in Aetobatids and Myliobatids!
