A healthy patch of C. levisecta flowering alongside Camassia quamash on the Glacial Heritage Preserve. There is potential hybridization with Castilleja hispidain these populations but that is beyond my grasp.

!!! Western hemlock east of the continental divide!!! A Krumholz form hemlock about 3 feet tall, growing on the eastern slope of the lower maligne valley. In a forest dominantly made of lodgepole, subalpine fir and black spruce. The hemlock was a ~400m bushwhack up for maligne road (just passed bullshit canyon), through steep challenging terrain, full of deadfall. Super excited to find this tree. The hemlock didn't have cones and was the only individual in the population that I could find.
