Description

Found on footpath. I've never seen a non-winged P. marginale anywhere near the house or even within Dunedin City itself (common in the hills/coastal areas surrounding the city though). Presumably it flew into the city or was blown here. Interestingly, all of the winged P. marginale that I can find on iNaturalist are the dark colour morph (or slight variations of)? A dark coloured scree Weta on a scree runnel in a bluff system at 1750m, above Broderick Pass, Huxley River, MacKenzie Country.
Body length ~25-30mm.

The rain become heavy after a while so had to cut my trip short. Did disturb a large mallard family.
