Uploading this old one. Ceratiomyxa porioides.
1st photo taken 11/17. Psyche! Its red! 4th photo taken 11/15. One day after shows the mold coagulating into spore bearing thingies
My 2000th observation :)!
More firm and held its shape, unlike a slime mold. The stalks don’t seem thin enough to be typhula and was on a branch and not a maple stem . I’m very unsure!
Apparently in it's hunting phase!
Maybe P. galbeum, collected for micro
Willow host.
1 cm x 3cm. On what I thought was a young dead alder, but I'm having doubts now. My best guess is Trichaptrum biforme?
Maybe hypoxylon, but I've never seen it grow in such a tight cluster before.
It has a very faint purple tint in my opinion. Beautiful!
Found under stone in yard. Egg-carrying female?
Please excuse the clattering sound of my dog and his bone!
Zoom in for details, more white slime mold seemed to be more dried out and in more exposed areas, while the more erect fingers were in damper areas of the log
(See first post for accurate location)
Some of the mold turning an almost chalky yellow, but continuing to grow in bright yellow patches. Also the normal (white) variety also popped up in places on the log
(Not actually pink! My camera kept making it that way but irl is cream/ white / brownish color ) Found on underside of deciduous log. Very moist, had water droplets all over it (despite the recent lack of rain), and when squeezed released water. It was also slightly squishy to the touch, and bruised brown
