Bird was handled and banded with proper permits. This bird was banded previous to me and represents my first foreign recapture! According to BBL the bird was banded in 2020 as a nestling.

One of the most entertaining squirrels. Probably the biggest melanistic one I have seen on campus. The critter was chowing down on a fry when I saw them, and once they'd finished the crispier outside they left the core on top of the trash. This was followed by another very speedy dive and acquisition of fry. Very little fear of my photo shoot.

I have a 100 gallon tub of water near my house so wildlife can drink. Just as it was getting dark a short while ago something caught my eye and this small White-tailed buck came to drink. Somehow this fella got a plastic jug caught up in his velvet antlers...I hope he can get it off. I had to chuckle at this sight, however, something I had certainly never seen before. Anyway, he drank some water then trotted away. Hope he will be OK!

I wasn't planning to post a selfie but this was the first clear picture I got, and that's faster than going through a million pictures from my camera. My advice to anyone going here is leave the big lens behind. They were so close I had to switch to my 100mm macro lens. I don't have a 70–300mm lens but I have a feeling that would be ideal.
Wear a sturdier hat than the one I'm wearing in the picture because of pecking. Ouch!
