Found in parking lot growing in sand on top of asphalt rubble. Very shallow "roots", easily removed the above pieces from substrate. Pieces were taken from a larger mat of this moss ~4-6inches around. I rinsed debris from the moss and put it on charcoal to photograph. Some photos show moss dry, others after heavy misting. You can still see some of the sand the moss grew in. Beautiful green color & unusual fur or hair like texture. The moss looks fake almost- like green fake fur or cheap shag carpet. Will try to grow these small pieces in my moss propagation box- most of this moss I left to keep growing in the parking lot asphalt, somehow seems to thrive there this time of year.
