Tiny red spots around siphon edge. Similar examples have been found in metropolitan Gulf St Vincent.
Under rock in intertidal. Didn’t look characteristically like B schlosseri.
The yellow sponge matches the Mediterranean species Clathria compressa in visible external structure and habit. Growing prolifically under hard structures in a marina, near an international shipping lane. Specimen will be collected for taxonomic assessment.
Looks superficially like Pyura chilensis, or P. praeputialis, but so do other species. Difficult conditions for photography ( surge, poor vis). Aiming for better images and a sample in due course.
