A pair of birds were on this tree stump. The 2nd bird flitted about the saplings only a few feet away. Fortunately, this individual remained curious long enough for me to snap a few photos. Neither my camera nor I are much adept at photographing birds, so the patience of this particular Ovenbird was (and is) greatly appreciated.

Eclosion of the monarch butterfly happened on August 18. But for two weeks before that I got to photograph the exquisite jewel of a chrysalis as it changed color - actually the color of what was going on inside. What a beautiful process.
