This Turkish Towel was covered in tiny Chthamalus dalli (Small Acorn Barnacle).
I'm not sure if the sponge overtook them, or if they started growing in the sponge.
This observation is of the pink barnacle on the rather large other barnacle.

This barnacle was found on a coconut palm that washed up on the Tohe, 90 Mile Beach.
Another barnacle on the underside of the bouy that the strange one was found on.
Bouy was found a month ago on the Tohe, 90 Mile beach.
The course and find lines are seen clearly. the first 2 photos are the biggest that whas on this rock that was wahed up and 30mm long shell and 10mm long stalk. the 3rd photo the shells are 10mm long. The last photo shows the rock they were found on. I think these are all the same species @nzshells? :)
Locally common - these specimens (dead) retrieved from where they had washed into pools of water within the numerous ephemeral stream courses lining the cliffs
Not sure which one this is. About 10mm wide and spotted on a bouy that has been lying around here for a while. The bouy was found out on the Tohe, 90 Mile Beach last month.
