Description
A somewhat common prickly pear (opuntia-type) cactus in this region marked by areola bearing only short golden brown glochidiate spines. Native of Mexico and growing in Bahia Brazil. This site lies along highway 233 northeast of Itaberaba just to the southwest of Ipirá, Bahia, Brazil, in formerly seasonally dry tropical forests and woodlands.
