Description

A strange one. Sparse black fruit. Looks like a hybrid? There is C. tenuicaulis, C. areolata and C. propinqua around here.

Dense growth in scrub land in Waipoua forest. Couldn't tell which plants were the host but it was growing with dracophyllum, manuka and mingimingi

Description

Quite a striking gentian with leaves very compact mat held close to the ground, flowering stems about 10cm - 15cm high, bouldery landscape with lots of alpine herbs. Dry at the time but clearly also a place with a lot of wet.
