Description

Taken on the west half of Lake Creek Trail in northwest Austin, Williamson County.

I was afraid I'd missed my opportunity to photograph this species already this season. So I was very happy to find this single female Gray-waisted Skimmer. I wish it had been in better light. These photos were the best I could do in the shadows where it was perched.
