There were multiple of these species in the area. The actual flower part of the plant was about 3-4 inches in length, varying from plant to plant. They had a sweet smell when I wafted the flowers. The smell was strong. They were in a clearly cultivated formation, as manually planted in the mulch that they were growing in.
Found in dirt on the edge of campus. Somewhat orange hue. “M” marking on head as opposed to full black head indicates the invasive Asian Lady Beetle Species. Only one in area. Moving slowly. Wild.
