I found it growing in the soil in a mulch bed in front of someone’s house, with no nearby trees. It had recently rained in the area. It seems to be puffball of some sort since the top is powdery with spores, but I’m not sure which type.

This organism was observed at 6 PM on January, 26, 2024 in Inverness, FL. The mushroom was found growing wild outside of an elementary school. I noticed many clusters of them spread out in the grass. They looked like octopus tentacles growing out of egg-like things. They also smelled kind of bad.
