I love locust borers -- they're so stripey and photogenic. Apparently, I'm not the only one.
The goldenrod was in boisterous bloom, and the Goldenrod Soldier Beetles were in a frenzy of eating and making out. I briefly wondered why there weren't many other pollinators around, and then watched a couple of Locust Borers get sexually harassed by several different soldier beetles.
The Locust Borers just kept eating and ignored their admirers, but the soldier beetles didn't seem very deterred by their disinterest.
