This is the second time we saw this otter in about the same place; hiking in and hiking out of Scott Creek
The storm dislodged much of the offshore Bull Kelp, so big masses are washed ashore. The pier is surrounded by kelp of different ages, mixed with eelgrass, feathers, etc. Bull Kelp is one of the fastest growing organisms on earth, and it's just an annual.
Squirrels are common to see around CSUMB campus. I think this one is a rock squirrel because its tail looked thin.
