Description

Cortinarius velicopia (this name did not exist on iNat at the time that this observation was created)

The highly saturated coloration of this mushroom is similar to Cortinarius violaceus, however the hue here is distinctly blue as opposed to purple. The cap is also silky-fibrillose and not scaly, and the stem is short, stocky, and bulbous, not proportionally long.

Description

These seem to be entirely fed by tourists. Locals will sell bags of veggies, leaves and green bananas. The silver leaves, as they call them, are so tame they even come down with their young.
