Description

I can find no images of any Megalopyge species on iNat matching this jazzy looking critter. The only color images that I can find online were offered as a "quiz moth" on a Costa Rican website:

The species is known from Mexico, Costa Rica, and Brasil. The following publication by Epstein (1996) from ResearchGate has a black-and-white illustration of the species:
