Spotted several times at the Humber River by the Cardinal group. An egret was also seen two days prior by the Junior Naturalists during their visit to the river.
This one climbed an embankment searching for a place to lay her eggs. Apparently she comes to this spot every year. Taking a rest on a sidewalk.
A big one! First I've noticed this spring, out on very warm, summer-like day.
Deceased and starting to decompose next to a pond where many Painted Turtles spend the winter. Likely a released pet who didn't survive the seasonal changes.
Shortly before I got this shot she was chasing a goldfinch - I can't imagine why.
