HELP: not sure if this animal is stuck or hibernating. We a large tail sticking out of a hole in our backyard and checked back in several hours to find it still there. We dug out the surrounding dirt and it appears the animal is alive but could be stuck, so we do not know what the best course of action is. We also have no idea what species this is.
