Description

Key J; Herbaceous dicots with calyx and corolla present (calyx absent or highly modified); petals fused (united) wholly or in part; ovary completely or up to half inferior; anthers united into a tube and surrounding the style; flowers in dense heads subtended by involucral bracts of various shapes and sizes; Heads without disk flowers (only ray flowers present); Heads with both ray and disk flowers; rays white, pink, blue or purple; receptacle naked; pappus all or in part of bristles; involucral bracts in 1 series, occasionally with a few short basal ones; Key C in Asteraceae; rays more than 2 mm long; stem leaves clasping; pappus of ray flowers of elongate capillary bristles; plants without leafy runners; disk corollas 2-3 mm long; rays very small.

Dicot, herbaceous, perianth absent, calyx and corolla present, petals fused, leaves opposite, ovary inferior, actinomorphic, compound leaves, viny plant, petals 5, Apocynaceae, petals purple, plant terrestrial, all leaves look the same.

Located along the outside of a chainlink fence infront of a residential home located on S Hickory St, Chattanooga, TN.
