Attended a TPWD wildlife diversity staff meeting at Camp Buckner in Burnet. This is a really nice facility with lots of cool wildlife all around. Posted these observations with permission from staff at Camp Buckner.
Stayed an extra day down in the valley during the nature center conference and went to Resaca de la Palma state park to explore a bit and black light later. It was great fun! :)
I've got a lot of work to do on these ID's though... Many of these are just tentative ID's.
Had a wonderful time with environmental educators at the TAEE conference at Lakeview Methodist Conference Center. I put up a few blacklights and a mercury vapor the first night to see what may show up the second evening.
All of these observations are uploaded with permission of land owners and managers of the conference center.
Last day of the city nature challenge, so we went to Tandy Hills to do some emergency mothing. ;)
Also, I'm going to be working on the ID's for all of these -- just want to upload them first...
Mothing at LLELA! This was one of the best mothing events I've been to -- we had like 8 set ups, and the bugs were out in force! Great stuff.
I'll spend more time later on the ID's of these bugs -- wanted to get them uploaded first. :)
Had such a great time with fellow iNatters at Timberlake Field Station. iNat is a community! :) Still working on the ID's for many of these, but I'd never turn down assistance!
Had a great time helping out with the Wildlife Conservation Camp at the Clear Fork Ranch. I talked a bit about iNaturalist, led a mothing program, caught some dragonflies, and talked a bit about plants. Great fun!
These observations uploaded with permission of ranch management.

Last day of moth week, so we celebrated at the Heard Museum!
Elizabeth and I had a wonderful time at Betsy's cabin -- such a great place!
We did a bit of mothing the two nights as well.
Went to the Chaparral Wildlife Management Area to look for some bugs. Wind gusts of 20-30 mph and lack of rain for months... Nonetheless, quite a few bugs showed up!
Will work on these ID's later on.
Went west to help out with a vegetation survey with some fellow TPWD biologists -- did some black-lighting roadside just south of Possum Kingdom State Park this evening.
Sad that the Fort Worth Nature Center was closed, so I did some sweep netting around some of the perimeter. Lots of bugs (and other stuff) even outside of the nature center! :)
Such an enjoyable gathering with fellow iNatters at Matador and Gene Howe WMA's...

Did some black-lighting at the entrance of Big Spring State Park. Really pleased to see a lot of diversity!
Still working on a lot of these ID's, but I wanted to get them uploaded soon.
Had a really nice evening with a few moth-ers at Acton Nature Center! Quite a few bugs showed up, especially after a short rain shower.
Helped out with a veg survey the next day, so I did a bit of mothing outside of a cemetery the night before! What fun -- loads of stuff showed up!
Still working on ID's...
I love the Lower Rio Grande Valley! I was lucky to do some black-lighting at a few of the Las Palomas WMA's (locations obscured) and so many bugs showed up. :)
Will work a lot on the ID's of these -- just uploading them first.
While camping at Choke Canyon State Park, I put up a few black-lights -- lots of neat bugs showed up! :)
Mothing in the cold windy rain isn't too great. But, it's nice when it's with company! :)
One of my favorite places in all DFW -- the Fort Worth Nature Center! Got to spend some good time here to look for species during the CNC.
All of these were observed on or near roughleaf dogwood.
I didn't get the chance to go to Tandy Hills during the CNC, so I went out to do a little mothing this evening! Lots of bugs showed up -- still working on the ID's for many of these.
Went over to Tandy Hills to do some blacklighting for June! :) Quite a few bugs showed up.
Had a wonderful meeting with Carly from NPAT and Megan from BRIT this morning -- enjoyed visiting at Crawford Park!
