I thought it was Lachenalia marginata, from the description in the Encyclopedia of Cape Bulbs, but I then went to find out what subspecies there were, and found that Lachenali marginata occurs on the Nieuwoutvile escarpment to the Gifberg massief. Even with a generous margin of error, I could not incorporate Stellenbosch into that area. Sigh... Try again...

Bushy growth with orange/yellow flowers
Orchid with hard stiff leaves. Tiny flowers with stubby spur. Lip 3 lobed with rows of papillea. Growing in coarse sandy at about 911m.
