Description

Growing in Douglas Fir forest. About 30 feet away from creek. Bright orange spores. Cobwebby partial veil (cortina). Whole basidiocarp violet in color. Distinctly scaly cap.

Description

Found in young dense alder (Alnus sp) stand, adjacent to unpaved foot path. Cap and stipe lilac purple (esp in young stages), cap slightly off center and slightly umbonate, base of stipe yellowish, no visible veil or rings, odor spermatic/pungent.

Pulveroboletus ravenelii.
my observation has switched to slippery jack. I keyed this out to sulfur bolete using mushrooms demistified. It didn't look like a slippery jack in person

Description

Found on a stick about 1 cm in diameter on the ground. Multiple sporocarps emerging from the same general area. Slightly translucent bright yellow Y-shaped sporocarps when fresh.
