Another rescue from the street shelter.

I've always called these types of cacti either 'round cacti', or 'tall cacti'.

I am unfamiliar with the name 'Hedgehog Cactuses', however, I do believe the ID is correct about the Genus.

I have a few of these, actually.
I have one of my own which came from a nursery up island, almost 10yrs ago. That one is around the same size, maybe an inch or two shorter and thinner than this one (pictured). So, I assume this rescue is at least 7-10yrs old.

How big can it get? How long will it live? I've known of gardens here on the island with cacti like these, which were over 40yrs old, 10ft tall, and 5ft in diameter.
