I was surprised when one of these snowy plovers popped up out of a divot in the sand on Redondo Beach. Then I realized there were two of them.

So long as my calculations are up to date considering species I have seen but are undocumented this is bird species #316 for me.

Yeah, time to get my telephoto fixed

Seems likes an unusual place to see a Snowy Plover.

Two birds above wrack line. One very white on back of head and back. Had at least one blue band on left leg.
