Description

My mom went back to work today after not being there for several days due to snow and ice (we live in the south and don’t drive in snow. Lol) She works at a shipping dock. She found this poor male Northern Flicker. It looks like its feet got caught in webs and its beak looks to have webs on it. She sent me these photos and a photo of some of the webs (last photo). So sad. Such a beautiful.

Scat was found on top of a man-made levee, that is occasionally mowed and mulched, that encircles a man-made wetland below the dam of ACOE Pat Mayse Lake. This is a state wildlife management area. Persimmon seeds are easily seen in the scat.
