Rather abundant on this shoreline
MN river floodplain. Leaf blade 1 in long
Spotted this majestic raptor soaring over the road and then quickly over the horizon in the Sax Zim Bog in northern Minnesota.
Orange eyes is a sign that this Northern Goshawk is an adult but not very old. The oldest birds would have reddish eyes. Captured, banded and released at Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory [October; Duluth, Minnesota]
Continuing in the area
Bad photos but can anyone give an ID? So cool!!
