Description

Killed by a window strike, unfortunately. I took a number of photos that I hope will highlight some characteristics that distinguish Hoary from Common Redpolls, notably the pale rump and lack of strong barring on the sides. The 2nd and 3rd photos show really long claws -- is this normal?

I’m not 100 percent but I seem to have the white hip area . Does seem to have a black throat and overall gestalt I thought was Arctic.
I probably have some better photos of the white lines on the neck which were pretty distinct.
