Large mammal seen near a wetland, I tried getting a closer photo but it ran off. I'm thinking it's a north american river otter?

Not sure if this is a river otter, muskrat, or even a beaver. It kept diving under the water then eventually came into shore but never close enough to get a good look at the tail.

Is this a morel? It was growing in the pine nugget mulch around our front garden
