I think, will check - does this seem right @steverobinson97? Yellow pronotal lobes. Saw a couple females here on Helianthus decapetalus alongside Andrena aliciae
presumed male and female
Elizabeth and I went on a week long road trip up to northern Missouri. It was more focused on antiques and quilts, but we still snuck some nature in between stores. :) We stayed at some nice AirBnB's each night, and I tossed up the black-lights. Temps were in the 40's, so not a ton showed up, but it was still fun!
andrenoides? if so, county first
6 mm, on Solidago
andrenoides? love how the male tucks in his legs during mating
I believe this is Pseudopanurgus - probably andrenoides? based on the features I was able to see in the photos: lateral ocelli around 2 ocelli apart, and vertex about one ocellus, pitting on scutum regularly spaced and interpit areas shiny, scutellum with some areas lacking pits, pits seem to be bunched along midline. Apart from this, I don't have enough experience in this group to compare other features with confidence, and there are no photos of aestivalis to compare with. Unfortunately this is the only angle I was able to get. Strangely, what's throwing me for a loop is what looks like three submarginal cells visible on one of the wings (see 2nd photo)...I know dropping cells happens, but adding them seems less common.
For the smaller bee on the left buzzing the Drury's Long-horned Bee
inat suggested this genus, which seems like it might fit. P. andrenoides? I look forward to expert opinions.

These don't have the yellow on the legs that I think all of our Hylaeus have here in ON...
