-1.3 at 3:10 pm; very windy from the north at the ramp, less windy in Seal Cove. Sunny

Duties & Visitors

Extremely busy. Parking difficult. Lots of families out for the holiday. Stood at the ramp for an hour and directed people to Seal Cove, since Main beach was closed.

Observations

Numerous Ochre, Bat stars. Chrisom Dorid. Chiton, Orange Cup Coral. Sponges.

-1.7 at 4:20 pm; Sunny; calm. Nearly perfect day out there

Duties & Visitors

Lead a tour of Girl Scouts, about seven plus an adult

Observations

Numerous Ochre, Bat stars. Chrisom Dorid. Ringed Dorid, Orange Cup Coral. Sponges.

Weather & Tide

-1.9 at 4:30 pm; Epic low tide -- second best of year. Partially Sunny, light wind

Duties & Visitors

Extremely busy. Parking difficult. Lots of families out for the holiday. Stood at the ramp for two hours and directed people to Seal Cove, since Main beach was closed because of stream. Got out spotting scope and had a good view on the seals

Tuesday January 11th, 2022


Weather & Tide

+0.9 at 12:58 pm; Sunny; warm. Big surge. Poor day. Could not even get to mussel beds. Only the highest tidepools accessible.

Duties & Visitors

Lead a tour of RWC children. Children ok, but not very attentive Very hard to find anything. Spent most of the time beachcombing. Lots of crabs, dead gumboot chitons etc. on beach

Observations

Very few, only high tide creatures. Many dead things to find beachcombing. Kelp crabs.
