Flora of the southeastern United States

Alan Weakley's "Flora of the southeastern United States" is an indispensible resource. It is by far the most comprehensive and authoritative flora of that region. It is also FREE if you're willing to provide a modest amount of personal information in return, a fair exchange from my point of view. The only problem is that the 2022 edition of the flora is distributed as a 2,022-page, 345-MB PDF document. My computer balks at a document of that size, and of course it's not web addressable, so it's always been somewhat less than ideal for my purposes.

Well, yesterday I did a routine google search, and lo-and-behold! there was a link to Weakley's flora among the top search results:

I clicked the link and...it's great! It's what I've been asking for (under my breath) since I started using the PDF version two or three years ago. I won't say anymore, click the link above and enjoy!

Alternatively, to request a copy of the PDF, click the following link:

Colchester Pond Natural Area

I created a new place:

Most of Colchester Pond Natural Area is located in the town of Colchester, Vermont but a sizable portion extends into the neighboring town of Essex where it is adjacent to Indian Brook Park. The area is a great place to observe spring wildflowers:

Colchester Pond Natural Area is administered by the Winooski Valley Park District.
