I'm a community college biology instructor with a background in organic chemistry and molecular biology. My main interest is vascular plant botany, particularly ferns and fern allies, and to a lesser extent, insects and herps. (I have a hard time with birding.) My principal stomping grounds are the mid-Atlantic region when home, and northern New England when on vacation.

I'm a member of the Philadelphia Botanical Club, the Delaware Valley Fern & Wildflower Society, and the Delaware Nature Society, and can be found following their trips into interesting places.

My research interests include fern phylogenetics and eastern serpentine endemics.
