I enjoy hiking, and observing, photographing and trying to identify what I see on my hikes. I live in Hawai'i but do a lot of my hiking in New Zealand and the western continental US. Despite decades of ecological research, mostly on insects, I admittedly am a pretty poor naturalist / taxonomist and will not claim much expertise in any group.
