Main interests are in butterflies and butterfly host plants, particularly mistletoes. My suburban yard is planted with quite a few butterfly host plants, and I also experiment with propagating mistletoes. I tend to travel to my spotting sites by bicycle, which gives me a nice leisurely view of what is happening around me. I have a PhD in biochemistry but have not worked in research for a decade or so.
