My wife, Diane, and I are master naturalists, Hill Country Chapter, 2014. We manage 160 acres in western Mason County. Our land is situated on Hickory Sandstone, in a transitional ecology between the granite of the Llano Uplift and the limestone of the western Edwards Plateau. It has been in my family since the 1930s. We have been learning from our land and systematically observing for several years. We use iNat to record observations on our property and to connect with others. We are especially interested in, and would like to follow, people who are describing specific properties in central Texas. Feel free to email bobby at ruraltx dot org.
