I am Professor of Herpetology at the University of the Witwatersrand and head the Alexander Herps Lab. My research is focused on reptiles, and to some extent, amphibians. I am interested in the conservation disciplines of biogeography, ecology, evolution and ecophysiology. I am passonate conservation, especially with regards to reptiles, and am on the IUCN Southern African Regional Specialist Group for Reptiles. I am also on the IUCN Boa and Python Specialist Group.
