I am an artist, permaculture gardener, and nature enthusiast in Melbourne, FL. I have a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from University of Florida (2016), but have since pivoted in my career to be a full time artist and photographer. My main interest is the diversity of species in Florida. I created an umbrella project to catalogue all the species in the suburban backyard setting of our home in Melbourne, Florida, where my husband and I are growing and managing a permaculture food forest system. The questions I strive to answer are: How much food can we grow from our property, and how many species can coexist alongside us in what would be considered a suburban environment?
