Retired entomologist. In youth, collected British beetles. Studied Psylloidea (Homoptera) for a few years before briefly working for Nature Conservancy Council in Scotland. Started career with Commonwealth Agricultural Bureaux in 1982, specialising in Tephritidae (Diptera), especially African spp. Now live in Derbyshire and take an interest in anything I can photograph and identify, especially the local butterflies. Took up moth survey trapping in mid-2023.
