Plant Community/Restoration Ecologist

I worked briefly on the Joshua Tree Genome Project in Boulder City, NV observing local adaptation to climate change among populations and strengths of adaptations to climate versus specialized pollinators. My masters thesis looked at grassland restoration with the aid of cover crops as soil microbial community rejuvenators. Additionally looked at the restoration potential of cover crops on tilled agriculture plots and tested weedy grass suppression. Dissertation project focuses on invasive plant ecology in GA shipping ports coming through the Panama Canal. Target species include but are not limited to Cogan grass and Common reed.
