I have been a Professor of English, a civil trial attorney, the executive director of a non-profit organization, and a high school math teacher. (Obviously, I do not know what I want to do when I grow up.) My interest in natural history began in 1970 when I first traveled to the Rockies, and I have been a photographer since the late 1960s. For a number of years I taught birding workshops, led and organized national and international birding tours, and taught photography courses. I have written and photographed for various local, state, and national publications, was a charter member of the Rio Grande Valley Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists, was a Certified Interpretive Guide, and was Resident Naturalist at Indian Ridge B&B in Mission, Texas. I currently live in Cape May County, NJ. I am also an active member of DSA (the Dragonfly Society of the Americas), and regularly submit records to OdonataCentral.org as well as iNaturalist.
